NEW CANAAN, Conn., -- A man wanted by Darien police was arrested by New Canaan police as he drove through the town early Saturday morning, according to New Canaan police.
An alert New Canaan police officer was driving southbound on Marvin Ridge Road just before 2 a.m. when he spotted a northbound vehicle that was a suspect vehicle in several thefts from motor vehicles in Darien on Dec. 10, police said.
The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and discovered that the operator, Eric T. Williams, 49, of 435 Valley St., New Haven, had three outstanding warrants, police said.
Williams was taken into custody and held on $25,000 bond and appeared in court on Monday.
