Man Found Stopped In Roadway Had Active Warrant, Darien Police Say

A 38-year-old man who was found stopped in the roadway in Darien had an active warrant, according to police.

Darien Police say they observed a suspicious motor vehicle stopped in the travel portion of the roadway on Post Road near Thorndal Circle on Sunday, Oct. 20 around 5:45 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Thethe Kwete, 38, of Bridgeport, had an active bench warrant from Bridgeport Court, police say.

Kwete was taken into custody and charged with second-degree failure to appear, as per the warrant. He was released after posting a $1,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on Thursday, Oct. 31.
