The incident took place 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, when the Milford Police responded to an Anderson Avenue home for a report of a domestic violence fight taking place, police said.

After police arrived on the scene, they found that Russell Jones, 49, of Anderson Avenue, had allegedly become aggressive toward a woman inside the home when she refused to open the door to the home because he was intoxicated, police said.

He then attempted to break down an exterior door and caused damage to the walls inside of the garage, they added.

The incident took place in front of a juvenile, police said.

After he was arrested, police said Jones called the woman from the police station and threatened to kill her.

Jones was charged with threatening, risk of injury, and disorderly conduct.

He was held on $25,000 bond.
