David G. Liebenguth, 55, was pleading his case to a parking official who had issued him a ticket for being parked at an expired meter, the Advertiser said. When the attendant let a nearby woman off with a warning, Liebenguth used the racial slur, police told the New Canaan Advertiser said.

Liebenguth claimed he was given the ticket because his car was white and is pursuing a complaint against the parking attendant, The New Canaan Advertiser reported.

Liebenguth was charged with second-degree breach of peace and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29, the New Canaan Advertiser said.
