ID Released For Woman Killed In Southern State Parkway Crash

A woman who was killed during a single-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island has been identified by New York State Police.

The crash took place around 5:47 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13  in Nassau County on the parkway eastbound just west of Exit 17, in the town of Hempstead, said New York State Police Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim.

Ashlee Tessono, 28, of North Baldwin, was the driver of a 2005 Toyota Scion involved in the crash.

Tessono lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway, striking a tree, causing her to be ejected and the vehicle to be overturned, according to police.

Tessono was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

The crash shut down the right two lanes of traffic for several hours. Currently, all lanes of traffic are open.
