Firefighter Suffers Minor Injuries As Blaze Damages Home In New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A firefighter suffered minor injuries fighting a blaze in a home in New Canaan on Saturday evening, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

The fire, which was reported at 5 p.m. by a passerby, caused significant damage to the home at 48 Silver Ridge Road, the Advertiser said. No one was home at the time, the Advertiser said.

It was brought under control with assistance from firefighters in Norwalk, Wilton, and Vista, N.Y., the Advertiser said. 

An injured firefighter was treated and released from Norwalk Hospital’s Emergency Department, the Advertiser said.

The house sustained significant fire damage on the first floor, smoke and heat damage on the second floor, and water damage to the basement, the New Canaan Advertiser said.

The cause remains under investigation, the New Canaan Advertiser said.
