NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A Brown University student from New Canaan suffered several broken bones and a concussion after he was hit by a car while videotaping a documentary for school in Cranston, R.I., according to the website for WPRI-TV.
Austen Deery, 20, of New Canaan, Connecticut, was listed in fair condition at Rhode Island Hospital on Thursday after the hit-and-run accident, WPRI-TV said.
Police said Deery was on the edge of a roadway at about 6 p.m. Wednesday makig a documentary when he was hit from behind, WPRI-TV said.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or has information about it to contact the Cranston Police Department at 401-942-2211.
