Romeo D'Amario, 87, Longtime New Canaan Resident

NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Romeo D'Amario, a New Canaan resident for over 45 years, died Tuesday, Nov. 11. He was 87.

D’Amario was born March 5, 1927, in Settefrati, Italy, to Federico and Pasqua Fanone D'Amario.

He served in the Italian military in Padua, Italy.

D’Amario is survived by his wife, Triestina Socci D'Amario; sons, Renato D'Amario of Denver , Colo., and Oliver D'Amario of Fairfield; daughters, Franca Masi (Joseph) of Fishkill, N.Y., and Maria DiSilvio (Robert) of Kirkland, Wash.; brother, Maurizio D'Amario of Toronto, Canada; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Antonio and Tomasso; and sisters, Delphina Caira and Donata Socci.

Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. in St Aloysius Church, Cherry St., New Canaan. Entombment will be in St John Cemetery, Norwalk.
