Georgette A. Jurgenson, 104, Longtime New Canaan Resident

NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Georgette A. Jurgenson, a longtime New Canaan resident, died Sunday, May 12. She was 104.

Jurgenson was born May 8, 1909, in Richmond, Mass. She was one of the founding members of the New Canaan Community Orchestra in 1949. She was a violinist, playing First Violin and Mistress for the Orchestra.

Jurgenson is survived by daughters, Joan M. Wolter of Etna, N.H., and Linda Jurgenson of Ridgefield; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Jurgenson; and daughter, Sylvia Easterbrook.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry St., New Canaan. Interment in Great Barrington, Mass will be private.
