Eleanore M. Hayter, 90, Of Wappingers Falls

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Eleanore M. Hayter, of Wappingers Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 30. She was 90.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Bayonne, the daughter of Stephen and Anna Zelensik Dzamba. 

She was a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital, serving in the critical care and progressive care units, retiring in 1991 after 25 years service. She volunteered at the Center for Lifetime Study at Marist College, the Randolph Smith school and the battered women program. She was a graduate of Dutchess Community College School for Nurses (1973). 

Surviving are her children, Carol Bomba, Elaine Calabro, William Hayter and his wife Elizabeth, Bruce Hayter, and Melissa Taylor; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anne Ross, Marguerite Hergeheimer and Marie Danowski.

She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Hayter; and a sister, Florence Dzamba. 

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls from 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
