Anna Mary Fasano, 103, Lived In New Canaan For A Century

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Anna Mary Fasano, 103, a New Canaan resident for over 100 years died Sunday Jan. 1, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.

Fason was born in Ridgefield on Jan. 6, 1913 and was the daughter of Louis and Antoinette D’Easi Schettino. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Fasano, who died in 1973.

Most important to Anna was her family and her church. She also enjoyed playing the piano, singing, reading, gardening and crocheting.

Anna is survived by her two sons, Vincent P. Fasano (Mary) of Naples, Fla., and Joseph L. Fasano, Jr. (Sandra) of Downingtown, Pa., one sister, Amelia Festa of Norwalk, five grandchildren Deborah Fasano; Susan Arendt; Joseph Fasano III; Garrett Fasano; Heather Laird; and four great grandchildren Samantha Arendt; Alexandra Arendt; Remington Laird; and Carmen Fasano, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Leopold Schettino, Frank Schettino, John Schettino and her sister Filomena Di Pietro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St Aloysius Church, Cherry St., in New Canaan. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan.
