What's Happening in New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A black-and-white art exhibition, a Manga Club year-end party and a traditional farmers' market are some of the events planned for this weekend in and around New Canaan.

Friday

Photo exhibit. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Gaudio Gallery's latest exhibition, Black + White, runs through Aug. 15. It features work by 14 international artists, including paintings, photographs, and works on paper and sculpture - all in black-and-white. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday or by appointment. Heather Gaudio Fine Art, 21 South Ave.

Saturday

Sunday

Teen Summer Reading Kickoff. All day. New Canaan Library's redesigned teen summer reading club, SLERP, kicks off. Keep track of the minutes you spend reading novels, magazines, newspapers, graphic novels, manga, audio books and just about anything else, plus the minutes you spend exploring new things such as museums, concerts, historical landmarks, theatrical performances and library programs. Each minute is worth one point, and as you accumulate points, you'll win prizes and raffle tickets for even bigger prizes. See the SLERP page for details, or email Gretchen, the Teen Services Librarian, with questions.

Advancing Nature Photography: 8:30 to 10 a.m. Take nature photography to the next level. This is a great chance to get outdoors with others, share photography tips, and witness the wilderness just outside our back door. Hikes will be led by professional photographer Dan Burns and are co-sponsored by the Photography Club of Lower Fair?eld County. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. For more information, contact Jeff at 203-869-5272, Ext. 239. Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road, Greenwich.
