Monday, June 4

New Canaan Utilities Commission: 7:30 p.m. The commission will have a regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda are discussion of a natural gas project and how to improve cellphone service in town. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Zoning Board of Appeals: 7:30 p.m. The board will have a regular meeting in the Town Hall Board Room. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan High School girls lacrosse: 5 p.m. The Rams will host the Darien High School Blue Wave in a quarterfinal state playoff game at Dunning Stadium. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Tuesday, June 5

New Canaan Board of Selectmen: 9 a.m. The board will host its regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda is funds for roof repairs at town buildings. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Board of Finance special meeting: 7 p.m. The finance board will have a special meeting to discuss bonding for renovations at New Canaan Town Hall and the tier at the Locust Avenue parking deck. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Amanda Hodgkinson at New Canaan Library: 7 p.m. Amanda Hodgkinson, author of the best-selling novel "22 Britannia Road," will speak in the Adrian Lamb Room. Her appearance is part of the library’s Authors On Stage series. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Wednesday, June 6

Saxe Middle School Orchestra Concert: 7 p.m. Saxe Students will play music at the Orchestra Concert. Saxe Middle School, 468 South Ave.

New Canaan Police Department Distracted Driving Forum: 7 p.m. The Police Department will host a forum, and teens and their parents are encouraged to attend. The forum is designed to educate and raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving, a growing problem nationwide. Speakers will include Fran Mayko from AAA, Marie Winters Trant from Lewis School of Driving, New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc and guest speaker Jacy Good, who will share a personal experience related to distracted driving. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Thursday, June 7

Saxe Middle School Seventh and Eighth Grade Concert: 7 p.m. Saxe seventh and eighth grade students will participate in an annual concert. Saxe Middle School. 468 South Ave.

Friday, June 8

New Canaan Nature Center Secret Gardens Tour: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nature Center staff will lead visitors on a tour of New Canaan gardens representing the past, present and future of landscape design. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. The tour will take place rain or shine. Call 203-966-9577, Ext. 50, for more information on the tours and lunch.
