Arts for Healing panel discussion at New Canaan Library: 7 p.m. New Canaan-based Arts for Healing will hold a panel discussion on the impact of music and art therapy in health, well-being and the healing process. The event will be held in the Adrian Lamb Room. A welcome reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. An exhibition of art created by clients of Arts for Healing will be on display at the library through May 30. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
New Canaan Board of Finance: 7:30 p.m. The New Canaan Board of Finance will have its regular meeting. The board is expected to approve the mill rate for the 2012-13 fiscal year. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Author Reeve Lindbergh speaks at New Canaan Library: Noon. Reeve Lindbergh, author of "Against Wind & Tide: Letters and Journals, 1947-1986," will be at the New Canaan Library. This is the sixth and concluding volume of selected letters and diary entries of her mother, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, beloved author of "Gift From the Sea." New Canaan Library, 11 Farm Road.

New Canaan Library Friends film discussion series: 7:30 p.m. The Friends Film Discussion Series will review "Orlando" and "Drugstore Cowboy." It is a fun and lively event that is free and open to the community. Multiple copies of the films are available at the library for viewing before the discussion night. "Sweet Bird of Youth" at the Powerhouse Theatre: 8 p.m. The Tennessee Williams play is directed by Gary Battaglia. Chance Wayne, a young hustler, takes advantage of Princess, an aging movie star with his youth and good looks; he manages to lure her to the Southern town of his birth in order to see a young girl with whom he has had an affair and whom he still loves. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. Powerhouse Theatre, Waveny Park.
