Monday, April 23

New Canaan Library Teen Advisory Board: 5 p.m. The Teen Advisory Board will meet in the library’s Plaut Room to record a podcast. Group members will talk about the books, movies, music and Internet stuff that they’ve loved or hated recently. The group is for children in grades seven to 12. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Tuesday, April 24

Planning and Zoning and Inland Wetlands commissions: 6 p.m. The New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission and Inland Wetlands Commission will have a joint meeting to receive comments on a proposed housing development at 41 and 47 Jelliff Mill Road. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Board of Selectmen:  6:30 p.m. The Board of Selectmen will have a regular meeting in the New Canaan Town Hall Board Room. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Library Young Critics Discussion Group: 6:30 p.m. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, the Young Critics Discussion Group will talk about books on the Titanic. Any book about the Titanic, fiction or nonfiction, can be read for this month's discussion. The Children's Room and the Main Library have many books available. Pizza dinner will be served. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Wednesday, April 25

New Canaan Senior Health Care Technology & Tele-Health Committee: 4 p.m. The Senior Health Care Technology & Tele-Health Committee will have a special meeting. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Town Council Lakeview Avenue Bridge Arbitration Subcommittee: 6:30 p.m. The subcommittee will have a special meeting to discuss the progress of research on the recommendations of its report to develop changes for Town Council review. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Thursday, April 26 New Canaan Library Authors On Stage with Brad Parks: 7:30 p.m. Author Brad Parks will introduce his newest mystery, "The Girl Next Door." The event is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books and will take place in the Adrian Lamb Room. To register for Parks’ appearance, call the library at 203-594-5000. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Friday, April 27

New Canaan High School Boys Volleyball: 4 p.m. The boys varsity volleyball team will host Bassick High School. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Cocktails and Crooning for a Cure: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cocktails and Crooning for a Cure was established in 2009 by Amy Lynn, Pam Lind and Cheryl Jones, all of whom work for the Town of New Canaan. Tickets are $65 per person. Proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, and Travelers Walk MS. Waveny House, 677 South Ave.
