Sister Rowing Team Tops New Canaan News This Week

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Two New Canaan sisters participating in a national event led the news for this week. Here are a few of the other big stories of the week.

? On Monday the Daily Voice reported on a New Canaan man charged with driving under the influence while on an all-terrain vehicle around town just after midnight on May 31.

? The State Attorney decided not to file charges against anyone in the dispute that took place at Tequila Mockingbird Restaurant in February. The New Canaan Police Department will have an internal investigation to see if any regulations were violated by Lt. Frederick Pickering who was involved in the dispute while off-duty.

? Heidi DeWyngaert, president of the Bank of New Canaan, was named to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.

? On Friday Tropical Storm Andrea hit New Canaan bringing several inches of rain and high winds with it. It was the first storm during Hurricane Season of 2013.

? New Canaan sisters Mary and Claire Campbell made their first visit USRowing Youth National Championships representing New Canaan Crew. Their brother’s Andrew and Charlie were also stand out crew members several years ago.
