New Canaan Road Work Prompts Main Street Detours

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Paving and milling work will prompt some traffic changes in New Canaan this week, according to the Public Works Department.

Milling and paving of the roads from Harrison Avenue to Farm Road is expected this week. Southbound traffic will be detoured westbound on Harrison Avenue. Northbound traffic will be detoured westbound on to Elm Place.

Two-way traffic will be allowed from Cherry Street to Harrison Avenue and Elm Place to Farm Road.

Preference will be given to emergency vehicles, school buses and local traffic only.

Due to possible changes in the work and weather, detour plans are subject to change without prior notice. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.
