Here's Where The Most Power Outages Are In Fairfield County

Tens of thousands of Connecticut residents remain in the dark after a Nor’easter rocked the region, bringing whipping winds, rain and downing trees and power lines in the area.

As of 9:35 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 39,655 of Eversource’s 1,276,791 customers were reporting outages, while 2,356 of United Illuminating’s 335,465 customers were still left in the dark.

Trumbull has the most outages in Fairfield County with 876 just before 110:30 a.m. Thursday. A total of 557 customers are without power in Greenwich. Ridgefield has 347 outages, Danbury 343, Wilton 311, Stratford 266, Fairfield 240 and Bridgeport 164.

There has been no information about the restoration of power to Fairfield County residents.

More outages are expected on Thursday, as a high wind warning has been put into effect through 6 p.m. on Thursday, with gusts possibly reaching up to 65 mph.

Thursday’s storm impacted travelers throughout the county, with numerous road closures and impacts to Metro-North lines due to downed trees and power lines.

At 7:30 a.m. Thursday in Greenwich, where the school district had a two-hour delay, 50 roads were closed due to downed trees and wires, police said.

Long Ridge Road in Stamford is blocked in both directions due to a tree down near Den Road.
