NEW CANAAN, Conn. — AT&T will be in New Canaan on Thursday to float balloons at the transfer station to test for a possible cellphone tower.
The test will be done from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to collect data to prepare a visual study, according to New Canaan's website. The town needs to have the information on the site available when considering a lease for a possible cellphone tower, the release on New Canaan’s website said.
The balloons may be floated again if the town decides to go through with a lease for the site, the website said. The First Selectman may also decide to repeat the test so the public and other officials can witness it and form their own opinions, the release said.
