NEW CANAAN, Conn. More than 300 Connecticut Light and Power customers still are in the dark a day after winds and heavy rains hit New Canaan and the rest of Fairfield County.
As of 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, the utility is reporting 342 customers without power, representing 4 percent of the utilitys customers in New Canaan. At its peak Tuesday, the bad weather had knocked out power to more than 800 customers.
Several roads in town still are closed due to downed trees or power lines. Those roads include Greenley Road near Ramhorne Road, portions of West Hills and Ponus Ridge roads, Brookwood Lane and Harrison Avenue near South Avenue.
