What’s Happening in New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A podcast recording, a traditional farmers market and a pair of musicals are some of the events planned for this weekend in around New Canaan. 

Friday

New Canaan Library Teen Advisory Board Podcast Recording: Noon. Come to the library to talk about the books, music, movies and Internet stuff that you've loved or hated recently. The group is for children in grades 7 to 12. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.   

Saturday

New Canaan Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit with vendors selling farm fresh foods, soaps, crafts and other treats at the Center School Parking Lot on the corner of Maple and Main streets. The Farmers Market is open every Saturday rain or shine through Nov. 17. Center School Parking Lot.

Summer Theatre of New Canaan presents "Pinkalicious The Musical:" 1 p.m. "Pinkalicious The Musical" is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation. Pinkalicious is obsessed with pink cupcakes and she can't stop eating them despite warnings from her parents. Her dream is to radiate pink, and when she eats one too many pink cupcakes, her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this Pink predicament.  Performances will be held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 5. Waveny Park.  

Sunday

Summer Theatre of New Canaan's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat:" 3 p.m. General admission seats start at $20 for open lawn seating and picnics. Performances will be held at 3 p.m. Sundays and 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 5. Waveny Park, New Canaan.
