NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- After many member requests, the New Canaan YMCA will submit an application to the New Canaan Planning & Zoning Commission within the next two months for approval of a master renovation plan to the existing New Canaan YMCA building.
The YMCA is seeking to repair the rear half of the building, replace both of the facility's pools, renovate the locker rooms, update the existing gym and wellness area and re-purpose several spaces throughout the building.
"We’ve heard our members' requests and feedback for upgraded facilities, and have worked to put together a master renovation plan which will be able to accommodate many of these requests while we also address renovating and replacing the older areas of our facility," the YMCA said in a statement.
The Y will seek the financial support of its members and the community through a fundraising campaign.
