Doors will be open at the five merrily decked-out homes Friday and Saturday. The tour is sponsored by the New Canaan Newcomers Club.
Tickets are $85 in advance or $95 at the door. For tickets, or more information, click here.
In the 50 years it has existed, the tour has raised more than $500,000 for more than 30 local charities, such as ABC of New Canaan, Magical Music for Life, Tiny Miracles and the Waveny Care Center.
On Nov. 17 – World Prematurity Day – Kate Cutshall, who chairs the house tour, and Jamie Buschmann, a member of the tour committee, visited Tiny Miracles in Darien.
The volunteer-operated charity helps more than 1,000 Fairfield County families with premature babies each year.
Established more than 10 years ago, Tiny Miracles recognizes hospitals are able, it says, to meet most premature infants' medical needs. It’s the emotional and other needs that often go wanting, it says.
The foundation said it seeks to fill this void by providing support, information, services and supplies to the families of premature infants during, and immediately following, their hospital stay.
