NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Canaan Nature Center has two new guests on its grounds -- a pair of baby Nigerian dwarf goats.

The goats are on loan from the Stamford Museum and Nature Center and will live in a pen designed and constructed in part by Eagle Scout Jake Melcher.

The Nature Center currently is finishing a naming contest by the community to come up with monikers for the kids, as baby goats are known.

The goats were featured on NBC's "Today," and  originally were named after hosts Kathie-Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

The Nature Center will use the goats for its school programs, public programs and even birthday parties after they are leash trained and can fit into dog carriers.

“It is the New Canaan Nature Center’s hope that not only will the goats become community favorites but they will also help with weed control since goats love to eat poison ivy," said Keith Marshall, the center's director of education, in a statement. "We welcome (and depend on) community volunteers to help with feeding the goats, letting them out at dawn and dusk and other related fun daily tasks."
