NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan resident Nick Sadler will host a two-day acting workshop at the Darien Arts Center on the next two Saturdays.

“Connecting with the Camera: The Keys to Delivering Truthful Acting on Camera," will cover invaluable techniques and trade secrets for performing on camera in film, television, and commercials. Classes will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of acting on set, including being believable, being relatable, where to focus, eye lines, audition techniques, and much more, while using professional acting scripts.

Sadler has worked with film industry giants such as Barry Levinson, Joel and Ethan Coen, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Danny Glover, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas and Elizabeth Ashley. 

As a director, the New Canaan resident's work has aired on HBO, Cinemax, Canal Plus, and screened at film festivals such as Denver, Slamdance, Deauville, Hamptons, and Sundance International Film Festivals.

The workshop will be co-taught by Matthew Porretta of Darien.
