What’s Happening In New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Creating glow-in-the-dark pillowcases, a major sidewalk sale and a musical in the park are some of the events planned this weekend in and around New Canaan. 

Friday, July 13

Glow-In-The-Dark Pillowcase at New Canaan Library: 3 p.m. Come to the library to paint a glow-in-the-dark pillowcase to brighten up the darkest night. This  fun activity for ages 6 to 8 is in the Children's Program Room. All materials are provided. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.   

Saturday, July 14

New Canaan Farmers’ Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Browse booths selling farm-fresh foods, soaps, crafts and other treats at the Center School Parking Lot on the corner of Maple and Main streets. The Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday, rain or shine, through Nov. 17. 

New Canaan Village Fair and Sidewalk Sale: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 100 vendors will be in downtown New Canaan selling clothes, crafts and other goods. The fair will also feature live music and kids entertainment at Karl Chevrolet. Portions of Main and Elm streets and all of Forest Street will be closed to vehicle traffic.  

Sunday, July 15

Summer Theater of New Canaan's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat:" 3 p.m. General admission seats start at $20 for open lawn seating and picnics. Performances are 3 p.m. Sundays and 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 5. Waveny Park, New Canaan.
