New Canaan Board of Finance: 7:30 p.m. The New Canaan Board of Finance will have its regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda are approving line-item transfers to pay for several projects, including construction management for the Town Hall renovation project. World Events, Culture and History Book Group: 7:30 p.m. The group will discuss Samuel P. Huntington's "The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order," a provocative and prescient analysis of the state of world politics after the fall of communism. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

New Canaan Library Teen Critics Meeting: 6 p.m. Join the Teen Critics in the Teen Area for pizza and a discussion of "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging" by Louise Rennison. Friday, Dec. 14

Holiday Concert with the Saxe Chamber Players: 3:30 p.m. The Saxe Chamber Players, under the direction of Janet Rosen, presents its annual Holiday Concert. Filled with traditional favorites and special performances, this concert is delightful for children of all ages, their parents and grandparents. Musicians and their guests are invited to bring a new or gently used children's book to donate to the Carver Foundation of Norwalk. A reception will follow.
