New Canaan Board of Education: 7:30 p.m. The New Canaan Board of Education will have its regular meeting and hold a discussion of amending the 2012-13 calendar after Hurricane Sandy. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Author Mark Rubenstein Speaks: Noon. If fast-paced, can’t-put-down thrillers are your favorite read, don’t miss author Mark Rubinstein, who will talk about his recently released thriller, “Mad Dog House.” The event is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books.
