Monday, Oct. 22

New Canaan Library Movie Mondays: 4 p.m. Join the New Canaan Library for Monday for Movie Mondays. This week’s movie is “Another Life.” The film will be screened in the Plaut Room. New Canaan Library. 151 Main St.

League of Women Voters of New Canaan Debates: 6:30 p.m. The League of Women Voters of New Canaan is again co-sponsoring a Candidates Night. Plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to meet the candidates and enjoy light refreshments.  The program will begin at 7 p.m. and consist of two sessions during which candidates for state Senate in districts 26 and 36 and state representative in districts 125 and 142 will respond to questions from the audience and the league. Candidates for New Canaan Registrar of Voters will also be introduced. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Author Thomas Craughwell at New Canaan Library: 7 p.m. Join Thomas Craughwell as he introduces us to Thomas Jefferson’s passion for agricultural and gastronomical knowledge through his latest book, "Thomas Jefferson’s Crème Brulee." Craughwell appears as part of the Authors on Stage series; the event will be held in the Lamb Room and is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

New Canaan Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting: 6 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting. Included on the agenda is a discussion of the South Western Regional Planning Agency’s 50th anniversary. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Time For Twos Fall Storytime at New Canaan Library: 11 a.m. Time for 2s meets in the Children's Program Room. Snack follows at 11:30 a.m. Registration required. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Thursday, Oct. 25

New Canaan Library Friends Film Discussion: 7 p.m. This week, the Friends Film Discussion Group will discuss "Husbands" and "Woman Under the Influence." The Friends Film Discussion series is free and open to the community. At each discussion two films will be paired and discussed. Multiple copies of the films are available at the library for viewing before the discussion night. Pizza and refreshments will be served. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Friday, Sept. 26

Preschool Halloween Crafts at New Canaan Library: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Drop in to create a spooky Halloween craft in the Children's Program Room. This is for children ages 3 to 5 with a caregiver. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
