New Work by Artist Tauba Auerbach at The Glass House: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. An exhibition features work of New York-based artist Tauba Auerbach for Night (1947- 2015), a “sculpture-in-residence” series presented on the Mies van der Rohe glass coffee table inside the Glass House. The physical form of the work resembles that of a gnomon, the vertical shadow-casting part of a sundial. Tours are $30 to $250. The Glass House, 199 Elm St., New Canaan.
Tuesday, Aug. 13
New Canaan Summer Cross Country Series: 7 p.m. The running event is a handicap race with series of short races through the fields and trails of New Canaan. Cost is $3, $2 for students, kids and seniors. Waveny Park, New Canaan. Visit the website for more details.
New Works by Artist E.V. Day at The Glass House: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. An exhibition features new work of Artist E.V. Day’s will be on view in Da Monsta gallery. All tours of the Glass House will visit the exhibition so visitors can enjoy all aspects of this historic modernist icon, set in a 49-acre curated country landscape. The one-hour guided tours to 2 ½ hour specialized tours focus on art, architecture and landscape. Cost is $30 to $250. The Glass House, 199 Elm St., New Canaan..
