New Canaan Historical Society Features World War II Talk

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Historical research editor Mark Albertson will speak about the 70th anniversary of the clash between Germany and the Soviet Union during World War II at the New Canaan Historical Society's quarterly meeting on Wednesday.

The event begins at 7 p.m. 

Albertson is a historical research editor at Army Aviation magazine and the historian for the Army Aviation Association of America. He is also a longtime member of the U.S Naval Institute. 

Albertson has written several books and is currently at work on another -- "Sky Soldiers: The Saga Of Army Aviation." He has published numerous articles on issues of history and current events.

He teaches as an adjunct in the extended studies program at Norwalk Community College. He teaches six courses for the Lifetime Learners Institute of Norwalk Community College. He also lectures throughout the state on a wide variety of historical topics. 

A small exhibit on World War II is on display and may be viewed at the time of the lecture. 

Three booklets in the exhibit, published by the historical society, focus on the men and women from New Canaan who served in the war. 

Refreshments will be served following the talk.
