1-Month-Old CT Boy Dies After Disappearing With Mom: Police

A Connecticut infant who vanished with his mother over the weekend has died from injuries he sustained while missing, according to state police.

Sadie Fleming and her one-month-old son, Hudson, were found on Sunday, June 8, after being reported missing earlier that day in Washington, Connecticut. Both suffered serious wounds during that time, and Hudson later died of his injuries.

Sadie Fleming, 27, disappeared from her home in Washington, Connecticut, between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, along with her 1-month-old son, Hudson, police said. Authorities issued a Silver Alert to help find them. 

Search teams located Fleming around 5:45 p.m. that same day on a remote wooded road in Washington.

Hudson was found with life-threatening injuries, and paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital. EMTs also transported Fleming for treatment after attempting to stabilize her at the scene, police said.

Despite efforts to save him, Hudson was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities have not released details on what caused the baby's injuries, why Fleming left the home, or where she was headed.

The case remains under active investigation.
