Teen, Woman Hospitalized In Scooter Vs. Car Crash In New Canaan A Connecticut 17-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman were rushed to the hospital following a crash in Fairfield County, authorities said. Investigators are asking for witnesses of the incident.  The wreck was reported just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at South Avenue near the northbound ramp for the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, police said.  An initial investigation found the woman's van was turning onto the parkway when it crashed into the teen's Vespa scooter, New Canaan police said.  Paramedics took the teen and woman to Norwalk Hospital. Man Struck By Police Vehicle Outside Local PD Department In Fairfield County, Cops Say A Fairfield County man was injured after being struck by a police vehicle in front of a local department's headquarters. The incident took place in New Canaan around 9 p.m., Monday, June 27 in front of the New Canaan Police Department at 156 South Ave. The New Canaan Police vehicle was exiting the parking lot of 156 South Ave., to turn right onto South Avenue to head north, said Lt. Michael James Slocum, age 32, of Stamford, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 31, after officers in New Canaan were dispatched to the area of South Avenue and Farm Road on a report of a road rage incident that had occurred between two motorists. 12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In Fairfield County, Police Say A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries.
