The brawl took place in New Haven County around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30 in Milford at Walnut Beach.

When Milford Police responded to a report of numerous fights among a crowd as large as 500 people they were "quickly overwhelmed by the large, unruly crowd," the Milford Police said.

Several officers were assaulted and two were knocked to the ground and had their body cameras stolen from their uniforms, police said.

The department is looking to pursue criminal charges for the theft and other charges related to the fights, police said.

"As we continue our investigation into the incident that happened at Walnut Beach this weekend we are asking for assistance in identifying the individuals pictured," the department said.

Following the incident, the department says it will have a large presence at the city’s beaches throughout the summer.

Anyone with identifying information is asked to contact Ofc. Kayleigh Kish at kkish@milfordct.gov or 203-878-6551.
