Calise & Sons Bakery, Inc. reported that its Italian Scala Bread products produced on Nov. 23 contain sesame seeds, and they were packaged in a bag that says "Golden Flax Seed Scala Bread."

The sesame seeds were not declared on the packaging.

The company said 689 of the products were distributed to markets in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

The recalled products have a white plastic clip closure with a sell-by date of Dec. 6 and a Julian date of 327.

"At this moment, we have approximately 100 packages that are unaccounted for," the company reported on Wednesday, Nov. 24. "That number will continue to decline as our route sales team reports back to us. We are working diligently to retrieve all products."

Consumers should throw the products away immediately, the company said.
