Covid-19: Mohegan Sun Reopens Popular Restaurant, Launches New Gift Shop

Mohegan Sun has announced that it will reopen a popular restaurant owned by Michael Jordan and an electronics store, and unveil a new gift shop.

More than 80 stores and restaurants are housed at the over five-million square foot resort in Uncasville in southeastern Connecticut Most have reopened after mandated COVID-19 closures.

New gift shop Rove Home will also open on Friday, Sept. 4 noon. 

Located next to Rove Outfitters, casino representatives said that  offerings are inspired by "all things comfortable, creative and welcoming." 

The restaurant, SolToro, will open to diners on Friday, Sept. 4 at 4 p.m., with reduced seating from its previous capacity to allow for social distancing. 

The Mexican eatery serves margaritas, guacamole, filet mignon fajitas with carmelized peppers and onions and blackened Mahi Mahi tacos. 

Tech store bluwire, which sells brands like Bang & Olufsen, Mophie, Motorola, JBL and Harman-Kardon will reopen on Friday, Sept. 11.

Both of the casino's hotels have reopened; more than 20 previously-shuttered restaurants, including BALLO Italian Restaurant, Tom’s Urban, GAME ON, Bobby’s Burger Palace, Carlo’s Bakery, Comix Roadhouse, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, Skyrise Food Court, Jasper White’s Summer Shack, Todd English’s Tuscany, Vista Lounge at Wombi Rock, have also opened their doors.
