Today was supposed to be the start of the new school year for many Hartford students.

But a ransomware attack has delayed the beginning of the academic year.

In a letter home to parents, Hartford Public School District administrators said that there would be no in-person or online learning today, Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The ransomware “caused an outage of critical system and restoration of those systems are not complete,” the letter said.

It is unclear when classes will resume.
