Hartford Man Shot On Street Dies From Injuries

One of two men shot during an incident on a Connecticut street has died from his injuries.

The shooting took place in Hartford on Sunday, May 14, around 11:40 p.m. in the area of Wawarme Avenue at Locust Street, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police.

Hartford officers responded to the area on a ShotSpotter notification. Upon arrival, one man in his 20s was located and transported to Hartford Hospital where is he in stable condition, Boisvert said.

While on the scene, a second man, arrived at Hartford Hospital via private vehicle, also suffering from a gunshot wound. He was initially listed in critical, but stable condition. 

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Division responded and assumed the investigation.

Over the course of the past few days, the second victim’s condition deteriorated. On Wednesday, May 17, he was pronounced death, Boisvert said. 

He has been identified as Jose Angel-Morales, age 29, of Hartford.

The incident remains under investigation.
