Suspect Nabbed For Long Island Burglary Spree For Third Time This Month

A 20-year-old man was apprehended on Long Island after being connected to commercial burglaries for the third time this month, police said.

A probe into a string of burglaries in Bay Shore, Brightwaters and Islip led to the arrest of Qumail Mooredrew, who police say is homeless,  was located by Suffolk County Police investigators in a vacant house on First Avenue in Bay Shore at approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.

According to police, Mooredrew burglarized Mama Santini Pizzeria on Orinoco Drive in Brightwaters on Sunday, Jan, 26; Gloria Laundromat on Union Boulevard in Bay Shore on Thursday, Jan. 23; and State of the Art Laundromat on Union Boulevard in Bay Shore on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

Mooredrew was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Jan. 27.

Police noted that Mooredrew was also arrested on Saturday, Jan. 4 and charged with three counts of third-degree burglary. He was also charged with one count of burglary on Sunday, Jan. 12 when eh targeted Mama Santini Pizzeria. Mooredrew was released following each of his three arrests.
