Police Search For Suspect In String Of Long Island Commercial Burglaries

An alert was issued by the Nassau County Police Department for a suspect who targeted three businesses in Hempstead on Monday, Jan. 13.

According to police, the suspect entered the businesses by throwing rocks through the front door and removing cash registers from the locations. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said that the man targeted Magic Car Wash & Lube on Henry Street; Perlas Restaurant and El Tucanoso Bar Restaurant, both on Front Street.

In surveillance photos released by police, the suspect can be seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and holding an iPhone while ripping the register off a counter.

The robberies remain under investigation. Investigators said that anyone with information regarding the incidents, or who can identify the suspect has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
