A Fairfield County woman turned herself into police on an active warrant for leaving a child alone and DUI.

Ana Dewitt, 22, of Shelton, surrendered to Greenwich Police on Friday, Dec. 6, for an incident which took place in October, the Greenwich Police said.

During the October incident, Greenwich Police responded to a vehicle crash on Pemberwick Road in which she suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

While investigating the crash, officers learned that a 2-year-old child was supposed to be in her care. The child was located, alone, but unharmed, at a local residence.

Dewitt was released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Dec. 13.
