Greenwich Police say they observed a motorist traveling south on Indian Field Road on Wednesday, May 8 around 11:15 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted after the driver was observed crossing the double-yellow line, according to police.

When speaking with the driver, identified as Andres Lopez of Bridgeport, police say they observed an alcoholic odor emanating from the vehicle.

Police also say Lopez was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes.

Lopez was then asked to participate in a series of field sobriety tests, which police say he did not pass.

Lopez was arrested, transported and processed at Greenwich Police Headquarters, where he was charged with:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs
  • Failure to drive in proper lane
  • Operating without a license

Lopez was unable to post his $250 bond and is being held at Greenwich Police Department. He is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Monday, May 20.
