A wanted Fairfield County man was temporarily taken into police custody in Greenwich for allegedly violating a court-issued order of protection.
Greenwich resident Robert Meehan, 55, turned himself in at police headquarters for an active arrest warrant at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12 that was issued earlier this year.
According to police, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Meehan after investigating a complaint that he violated the term of a protective order barring him from contacting his victim.
Meehan was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court this week to respond to the charge.
