Driver Of Stolen Vehicle Gets Away Following Chase By Fairfield Police

The driver of a stolen vehicle took Fairfield Police on a chase after failing to stop for officers.

The incident took place around 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17, when officers attempted to stop a Hyundai Accent bearing a lost or stolen registration plate, said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras.

The vehicle failed to stop and engaged police in pursuit into Bridgeport. The pursuit was terminated on Wood Avenue at Birdseye Street, Kalamaras said.

The fleeing vehicle was later located by Bridgeport Police Department unoccupied. 

The VIN was confirmed to be a recently stolen out of Bridgeport, Kalamaras said.

The case is still under investigation.
