RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Robert P. Morrissey, a former pastor of St. Mary Parish in Ridgefield who was suspended after allegations he sexually assaulted a teenage boy, died last week in Jupiter, Fla., according to a report by Newstimes.com.

In 2002, Morrissey was removed from active ministry after accusations that had sexually assaulted a boy from 1979 to 1983, beginning when the victim was 15, according to the report.

At the time of the abuse, Morrissey was at a Greenwich parish, but the allegations came to light when he was a pastor for St. Mary's.
