Democrats Aim To Keep Control Of Philipstown Board

PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. – Three Philipstown residents are in the race for this year's Town Board elections, according to the Examiner News.

Democrat Nancy Montgomery is campaigning for a third term on the  Philipstown Town Board.

Two-term member Nancy Montgomery, fellow Democrat Bob Flaherty and Republican challenger Craig Watters are battling for the positions.

Flaherty was appointed a few months ago to replace Dave Merandy, who became Cold Spring mayor, reported the Examiner News.

Watters is attempting to become the first Republican to serve on the Town Board since 2011, when Barbara Scuccimarra, a current county legislator, left the board..
