Newly Crowned Miss USA Erin Brady Hails From Connecticut

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Connecticut had reason to celebrate Sunday as the state had its first-ever winner in the Miss USA contest, according to the pageant website

Erin Brady, 25, is from East Hampton in Middlesex County. She was crowned during the pageant, which was broadcast live on NBC, at the Planet Hollywood hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

The 5-foot, 9-inch beauty will go on to represent the United States at the Miss Universe 2013 contest in Moscow on Nov. 9. 

Brady, Miss Connecticut USA 2013, is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in finance and a minor in criminal justice, according to the pageant website. She is a financial accountant for Prudential Retirement in Hartford. She plans to pursue an MBA and hopes to get involved with Pension Risk Transfers.

She has helped with the Ferrari and Friends Concorso, which works closely with the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and the Make-A-Wish Foundation; Susan G. Komen, Walk for The Cure events; and Habitat for Humanity as her charities of choice. Brady also hopes to advocate for children whose parents are alcohol and substance abusers.
