2-Car Crash Hospitalizes 1, Closes Part Of Busy Hudson Valley Road A two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley sent one person to the hospital and caused a brief closure on a busy roadway. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, April 17 just before 10 a.m., when two cars collided on Route 6N in Mahopac near Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving first responders soon closed Route 6N at the nearest intersections and tended to the drivers' injuries. One driver was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital while the other refused medical attention.

Residence Goes Up In Flames In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley residence was damaged in a blaze that took crews hours to put out.  The blaze happened in Putnam County on Monday, April 16 around 2:40 a.m., when a residence in Brewster on Dingle Ridge Road went up in flames, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Responding fire crews from Lake Carmel, Brewster, Carmel, Croton Falls, and the Putnam County Fire Investigation Team were able to get the blaze under control after around two hours, firefighters said. The cause of the fire was not released.
