The school’s innovative learning model already has been embraced in the area – Fusion’s Greenwich campus opened last fall. This unique school model allows complete customization for each student, wherever they are in their educational path, and creates a real emotional connection.

“I’ve seen first-hand the transformational learning that takes place when students are offered one-to-one instruction, and am delighted to bring this approach to my hometown,” said Amanda Sylvester, Fusion Fairfield's head of school. “Whether a student is seeking flexibility of schedule, increased support or social interaction, Fusion Academy has a one-of-a-kind ability to meet their needs.”

Fusion Academy Fairfield, 2150 Post Road, Suite 305, will be among 37 Fusion campuses in seven states, as well as Washington, D.C.

"The Fusion approach to educating young people has been a powerful process for my team to observe first-hand,” said Vince Benevento, founder and director of Causeway Collaborative, an initiative founded in Westport with the vision to improve the lives of young men. “Their creative, progressive, and individualized approach to the academic process provides young people the flexibility to become truly engaged in learning. We have, without exception, seen immense growth from every young man we have sent to Fusion and believe that their model presents a much-needed option for children and their families within the local community”

The decision to open in Fairfield was based on the success of the school’s Greenwich campus, as well as research that indicated there was a strong need in the area for a one-to-one educational option, the company said in a press release.

At Fusion, homework is completed in the Homework Café on campus and students must be signed out by their lead teacher before leaving for the day. This policy enables students to spend quality time with family and friends, while simultaneously making sure they receive the instructional support they require to complete assignments, the company said in a press release.

Classes are offered year round so students can begin studying at any time during the calendar year, including enrolling for a full schedule of courses during the summer. For more information, go here.
