Westport-based Vidal/Wettenstein announced this week that the three-parcel property on Tunxis Hill Road has been sold in a $12.5 million off-market deal. The property has been fully occupied as the terms of the sale were finalized.
Over the past several decades, the main building has housed several tenants, including the original PathMart Food Store, an Arlan’s department store and Caldor. Kohl’s has been in the 101,402-square-foot property since Caldor vacated the space approximately 20 years ago.
As part of the deal, the Russell Speeder Car Wash on Villa Avenue and a one-acre parking lot on Greenfield Street were also sold off.
Bruce Wettenstein, a partner who oversaw the negations prior to the sale of the properties stated that “property in Fairfield, Connecticut, is extremely hard to locate, and they believe this location is an ideal center for continued growth in the retail sector.”
According to Vidal/Wettenstein, “Founded in 1968, (the company) has been active in the Fairfield County and New Haven County markets for 50 years. Recognized as the standard of excellence by clients and industry professionals alike, Vidal/Wettenstein strives to consistently outperform expectations. (Their) professionals have engineered some of Fairfield and New Haven counties most distinguished deals.”
